Call forwarding to a virtual attendant: using the number your customers already have
You get an AI number and, with your carrier, forward the old phone to it. Anyone who calls your usual number reaches the AI.

Many companies don't want to change the number on their business card and on Google. They don't have to. The way is call forwarding.
How it works
- You get an AI number from Combot, with your region's area code.
- With the carrier of the phone your customers already use, you set up forwarding to that new number.
- Forwarding can be always, only when no one answers, or only when busy. That's chosen at the carrier, not in Combot.
- Anyone who calls the old number reaches the AI. The AI answers with the company name.
The minutes of the forwarded call count toward the AI number's 500 monthly minutes. That number costs R$ 399 per month, detailed in how much does an AI phone cost.
When to use each forwarding mode
- Always: the AI answers everything. The team steps in via WhatsApp, in the summary the AI sends.
- When no one answers: the phone rings at the store first. If no one picks up, it goes to the AI. Useful for lunch breaks and when the counter is busy.
- When busy: the second call doesn't get a busy signal. It goes to the AI.
Outside business hours, "always" forwarding or a night forwarding mode at the carrier avoids the case of missed calls at night.
Before advertising, make a test call to the old number and listen to whether the AI answers, with your company's script.
